Erika Montero is a professor at the School of Physics and a researcher at the Physics Institute of the UASD, specializing in Physics Education, educational assessment, standardized testing (including PISA), and curriculum design. A member of the MESCyT National Researcher Career system and various scientific associations, she has collaborated with national and international organizations on educational, scientific, and technological initiatives. She has spearheaded the design and redesign of multiple undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the country, secured competitive grants from diverse agencies, and presented her findings across the Americas, Europe, and the Caribbean. She represented the country in the “International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP)” in Higher Education—a U.S. Department of State initiative focused on international collaboration—and completed specialized academic residencies within the educational systems of Spain and Finland, as well as scientific research stays in Puerto Rico. She possesses a distinguished track record in academic leadership, science communication, and institutional internationalization. She is fluent in English and Spanish (native).
