Researchers from the Institute of Physics Honored for their Academic and Scientific Contributions at UASD

In an atmosphere of solemnity and academic pride, the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) held the 2025 Recognition Ceremony for Researchers, Coordinators, and Postgraduate Professors this past November 26. The event, organized by the Office of the Vice-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies in the Aula Magna, aimed to exalt the research work that drives our academy forward.

The Faculty of Sciences' Institute of Physics played a distinguished role, with several of its members being recognized for the publication of articles in indexed journals:

  • Mtra. Taira Batista Luna
  • Dr. Narciso A. Villar Goris
  • Dr. Franmis J. Rodríguez Jiménez
  • Dra. Nelphy de la Cruz
  • Dra. Carime Matos Espinosa
  • Mtra. Erika A. Montero Lebrón

Similarly, Dr. Kety Mayelin Jiménez and Mtro. Omar Pérez Veloz were distinguished for securing funding for two major projects from the National Fund for Innovation and Scientific and Technological Development (FONDOCyT), approved in late 2024 and launched this year.

The ceremony was presided over by the Vice-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Radhames Silverio González, accompanied by key authorities such as the Director General of Research, Dr. César Díaz; the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Mtro. José Ferreira Capellán; the Faculty's Director of Research, Dra. Ceyda Luna; and our Director of the Institute of Physics, Dr. Vladimir Pérez.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Rector, Mtro. Editrudis Beltrán Crisóstomo, for his continuous support in increasing our research capacity. Likewise, we acknowledge the indispensable work of the entire research staff, research assistants, and administrative personnel; without their efforts, these achievements would not be possible.
