Carime Matos holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences with a specialization in environmental chemistry and air quality, boasting more than 20 years of experience in higher education and scientific research. Her research focus centers on the monitoring of particulate matter, heavy metals, and radionuclides, applying advanced nuclear and analytical techniques for environmental management and public decision-making. Currently, she leads the Institute of Chemistry at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), where she integrates her expertise in academic management with competency-based curricular development and quality assurance.
